A Proposal to Eliminate Oceanic Fossil Fuel Pollution

A Green “Back to the Future”

Everyone knows sea-going shipping is both a financial and pollution disaster. President Brandon has told us so! Not too long ago, while riding in my presidentially censurable fossil fuel mobile, I came upon an idea that will no doubt cause anticipatory shivers to ripple up and down the spines, and raise the hair on the arms of those who promote green agendas.

Design Wind Powered Shipping

Just think. Ships powered by the wind can eliminate the cause of fossil fuel pollution in our oceans. An added benefit is that we already have a base of knowledge about how to build them. Granted that knowledge base is not digitized, but we can work on that.

And, while we’re at it we can design these ship so they do not rely on steel, which requires fossil fuels to mine and refine–we can use renewable wood products. We still have a pretty good reservoir of lumber for ship-building. The giant redwoods of California, alone, would provide about 5 billion board feet of lumber. After all, they’re simply trees that can be regrown.

§ Using DynaRig configurations, ships’ complements (i. e., cis-people farts contributing to climate change) could be reduced to bare minimums further reducing the ships’ carbon footprint.
