Land of the Free, Home of the Brave
Yesterday I wrote a blog in which I noted some of the parallels between the tactics of the National Socialist German Workers Party and the events instigated by the unquestionable collusion of Twitter, Amazon, Apple, and Google fomented by a rabid “Democrat” party intent on puerile revenge.
Today I was reminded that this IS The Land of the Free, and the Home of the Brave. This phrase is not a marketing slogan, or an empty platitude. This is the Land of Free: This is a land where we recognize our civil rights are not doled out by government whim, but are antecedent to government. The Bill of Rights does not grant rights. Its design is to recognize those rights are antecedent to government, and that a government of the people, by the people and for the people shall not abrogate or diminish them, but rather is responsible to its grantors of power (the people) for observing restraint and protecting them.
“Home of the Brave” means that we do not back down from a fight. For the moment, the fight is verbal and judicial, and not physical. Rather than cowering in our basements in anticipation a usurped government and its oligarchic lackeys may further erode our RIGHT to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, we must become vocal in our protest against the outrageous behavior being attempted by that government.
Something I have been mulling over the last few days is the concept of the phrases “voted into power,” and “the party in power.” Since when did “power” become the operative word for elected officials. None of our elected officials are voted into “power,” they are voted in “office.” Their oaths of office do not include “power,” but rather “office.” It is time we reminded them of that fact.
I encourage everyone who values freedom to watch (and join) Bill Whittle’s video “The Home of the Brave.”
