Shrinking Police Numbers and Gun Control
Pelosi and Biden Tout Stricter Gun Control Amid Civil Breakdown
I find it laughably ironic that the Democratic leadership push for stricter gun control in an era where the thin blue line between civil order and outright anarchy is vilified, and in some instances even eradicated. After anarchy reigns, who responds to the 911 pleas when violence occurs? Social workers?
Gun control in eras of diminished police availability, either through defunding or outright abolition, is antithetical to the secure welfare of any citizenry.
Elitists Behind Gates Don’t Give a Damn About Your Security
One of the central mantras over gun control is, “you don’t need a gun to protect yourself, just call the police.” Well, what does one do when there are no police to respond? Elitists and celebrities behind gates, for the most part, do not have to worry about “run-of-the-mill” violence, where “run-of-the-mill” denotes one-on-one, or localized violence not perpetrated by a mob. Gang related vengeance and initiation violence, drive-by revenge violence, and crimes of opportunity are examples of the “run-of-the-mill” violence to which I refer.
Those of us who do not live behind gates or walls do have to consider who is available to respond to security threats at our doors, and neighborhoods. If there are no police, then the reasonable conclusion seems to be that the responsibility for our security falls to us.
