An Introduction

My name is Syme Antipathic. It should be quite obvious that this is a pseudonym, inspired by George Orwell’s book, 1984. However, the name is where the similarity ends. Orwell’s Syme was thoroughly a “company” man, totally and openly committed to the government’s image of an ideal social order, even though it cost him his life. Not so here!

Even the domain name, “zerothink,” was motivated by Orwell’s work. Where “wrongthink” in Orwell’s work was a label for socially and politically unacceptable thoughts, “zerothink” is a label for the summation of the apparent mental effort some bureaucrats and oligarchs put into the policies they foist upon the citizenry.

This site is simply a place where I can air my frustration at bureaucratic and oligarchic idiocy and overreach. One can be fairly certain there will be no “political correctness” in my rants. As the purpose of this blog is the airing of my frustration, it should be evident that posts will appear sporadically.

Readers Beware – Constitutional Conservative Present

Readers are warned that, in all likelihood, most of my posts will address what I see as violations of the Bill of Rights. As I was creating this site, I even considered publishing my posts under the pseudonym “Publius,” an overt allusion to the author of the Federalist Papers. However, having neither the insight nor the eloquence of the original “Publius,” I abandoned the pretense of using that distinguished cognomen.
